Rhys Jones

Senior Lecturer at Te Kupenga Hauora Māori, University of Auckland


Dr Rhys Jones (nō Ngāti Kahungunu) is a Public Health Medicine Specialist and Senior Lecturer in Māori Health at the University of Auckland. His research examines Indigenous health and ethnic inequalities in health, and he is a passionate advocate for social action to achieve equity. He has a particular interest in the implications of climate change and climate policy for Māori health and wellbeing. Rhys is Co-Convenor of OraTaiao: The New Zealand Climate and Health Council, a health professional organisation advocating for urgent, fair and healthy climate action.
